6th CINE VIS CINEMA International Film Festival

21 October 2005 - 23 October 2005

Seven Australian short films will join forty other films in the three-day CINE VIS CINEMA program, after having been shown together with two from Japanese directors at the Ó4th Australia-Japan Student Film ForumÓ which opened on the 14th October in Sydney. Several directors who have had their short films selected from this event have gone on to carve successful careers in film.

The First Thing that I Remember

Political torture continues. As spectators, most people can look away or turn it off. Others live with marked bodies and memories triggered by everyday smells, sights, and sounds. A Silence full of Things is a short, stylised documentary that travels sensuously inside one woman' experience of being tortured for her political beliefs.
