The Australian Embassy Tokyo is pleased to announce that it has produced a series of culture maps of Tokyo, Osaka, Kyoto, Nagoya, Fukuoka and other areas across the country.
This is a tool for all Australian art professionals who wish to explore possible future activities in Japan. Here you can easily find accessible information on potential Japanese partners.
For Australians in or intending to visit Japan, the site also offers convenient access to bilingual maps to help you locate and visit the major contemporary cultural institutions and art galleries in these major cities. The maps highlight cultural institutions - including museums, galleries, alternative spaces, theatres, concert halls and clubs - and also provides links to their official websites.
The Culture Map also provides additional information for Australians wishing to exhibit or do arts/culture related business in Japan. Institutions where Australia related events have taken place since the year 2000 are also highlighted.
Special thanks to Ms Hisako Hara and all the students at the Osaka Electro-Communication University who were involved in the production of these maps.
