Balarinji Design Exhibition

4 February 2005 - 26 February 2005

Run by John Moriarty, Balarinji is known as an innovative contemporary design brand that has been pushing the boundaries of Australian design. Moriarty, in whose veins runs the heritage of the indigenous Yanyuwa people, created a design signature that blends contemporary graphics with ancient Aboriginal motifs and icon systems in the hope of making a new visual statement about Australia. Their inspiration derives from the colors of the landscape, the lines and forms of animals and plants, and traditional indigenous culture.

This exhibition showcases the activities of Balarinji Design over the past 20 years, from the bold paintings performed for Qantas Airlines, through posters, artwork and corporate identity systems for domestic and international corporations.
