Benjamin Skepper Solo Live Performance "Parnassus"

Benjamin Skepper presents a solo musical performance at the Scott Hall Church at Waseda Hoshien on Sunday 30 May 2010. Using a loop machine, he will perform original compositions live and improvised on harpsichord, cello, toy piano, music boxes, sewing machine. 

Benjamin Skepper

Skepper (born 1980, Melbourne), a classically trained harpsichordist, pianist and cellist currently residing in Tokyo performs and records original works and collaborates with a variety of artists - visual, graphic, performance, fashion, dance, photographic and film. Skepper first performed a Mozart concerto accompanied by full orchestra in New Zealand (1990), and has since toured with professional orchestras around Australia. He then diversified into solo and orchestral composition and improvisation, working with artists in rock, pop, hip-hop and experimental music. His work has also appeared at the National Gallery of Australia, and in the ‘No Mans Land’ project at the former French Embassy in Tokyo. His arrangements and compositions for record labels include Colombia Music Entertainment (Japan), Avex (Japan), Tru Thoughts (UK), Big Dada and Ninja Tunes (UK). His appearances include an iTunes commercial, a fashion show appearance for Yohji Yamamoto, and corporate shows for Mercedes Benz and the Fina International Swimming Championship. His music performances include many festivals as well as concerts for the Austrian Archduchess and director of T-BA21 Francesca von Habsburg.
