CINE VIS CINEMA 2005 Film Festival

CINE VIS CINEMA 2005 Film festival will be held in Tokyo International Forum between 8/4 - 10/4. This 5th short film festival will invite two Australian directed films.

Birthday Boy was directed by Sejong Park. The film won the Dendy awards for Australian short films at the 52nd Sydney Film Festival and was nominated for the best Short Films (Animated) category of this year's Academy Awards.

Synopsis: During the Korean War, little Manuk plays on the streets of his village and dreams of life on the front. When he returns home, he finds a birthday present that will change his life.

Tackle was directed by Beth Armstrong. It won the Classic Cinema Short Screenplay Award, Literary Awards of the City of Glen Eira, Australia in 2004.

Synopsis: Rob encourages his son Ryan to follow in his footsteps and become a professional rugby player. When Ryan fails to make the school team, he is unable to face his father with the truth. He tells his father he's at training whilst pursuing his genuine interests. The lie builds and Ryan struggles to maintain the facade. Tacke is about a crucial turning point in the relationship between a father and his teenage son.
