Nigel MacLean returns to Japan

Following his successful tour last year Nigel MacLean will be returning to Japan in October to thrill audiences with his jazz fiddle. In Tokyo he will join young gypsy swing unit Jusqua Grand*pere, and will attend the jazz violin summit in Osaka where he will re-join 'Fiddle Club Band' whom he played with last year as a special guest. He will also perform a 'Chiyoda-ku lunchtime concert', playing well-known tunes such as themes from movie scores with pianist Yamamoto Taku.

His performances in Osaka and Tokyo will be part of the promotion of 'Fiddle Festival in Japan' to be held in 2006, the year of exchange between Japan-Australia.

Nigel MacLean

Nigel became a professional musician after studying at Berkeley conservatorium. From 1991 to 1994 he peformed with Diz Dizley, Bob Dylan, John Denver, Paul Kelly, Renee Geyer as well as working as orchestra director with 2 time Oscar nominee David Hirschfelder. He has worked on Elizabeth, Sliding Doors, and The Interview.

In recent years he has played on popular Australian pianist Joe Chindamofs albums and from 1999 worked on the Don Harpers Project 2004. He is now working on promoting his own band, Blue Drag.
