FISA World Rowing Championships 2005 Gifu

The national Australian rowing team will be competing at the 2005 World Rowing Championships in Gifu from 28 August to 4 September. The international rowing season culminates each year with the all-important World Rowing Senior Championships, which determine the world's best in each of the 24 existing boat classes. The week-long event is held on the most prestigious rowing courses around the world and attracts close to 1000 rowers from all five continents. This is also the first World Rowing Competition to be held in Asia and Australia will be sending a team of 60 athletes for this high-profile event, taking the the opportunity to prepare for the 2008 Beijing Olympic Games.
